This month of September is going to be a real fun one here in Montreal. This Thursday, Mois de la Photo kicks off with a whole list of interesting exhibits, artist talks and activities. I will be spending quite a bit of time around there and hopefully reporting back here, about what’s going on and what’s tickling my fancy!!! So stay tuned for that!

Colour Questions

Upon finding the boxes of slides from the Kodak Educational Aid series, not only were there fun pictures but there were also these, kind of psychedelic, slides of multiple-choice questions. I thought it would be fun to leave these up for the weekend, I had to get out the colour wheel chart to see what was what. If you want to leave some answers, go ahead.

I found these slides a while back at a yard sale. It was titled Kodak Educational Aid on the box and the series of images below was titled Shooting with available light. I had gone through them quickly before taking the loot home but today I had the time to really look at them – and these are the ones that made me happy! It’s a bit of an eclectic bunch but still amusing. I have a couple more to share later… Hope you enjoy them as well.

Eating turkey

This past weekend was Canadian thanksgiving and if i didn’t have 3 flights of stairs to my apartment i would have rolled in. Last night i arrived home after a weekend of food and more food and wine and more food. I sat down to my computer and stumbled-upon this site, MicroManiac and i felt like my stomach was talking to me! If you watch just one watch the eggs…it’s pretty intense!

Then this morning before writing this post, now that my body is slowly recovering from all that good food, family good times, and with all the food that i saw this weekend, i thought about this photo-essay that i saw a while ago on Walrus called Our Daily Bread by Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluisio.

So Canadians, i hope everybody had a wonderful long weekend, with great food and good company.

Deleted Images

My husband sent me this article yesterday from Montreal local newspaper La Presse, featuring a web site called Deleted Images. So i immediately went to check it out. The site is about almost deleted images, images that almost got the digital can from quick deleter fingers. So Deleted Images have created a sort of cemetery for the almost nonexistent images. “Have another look and start sharing what you would have deleted with the rest of the world.” – Deleted Images. Mistakes are often fun, so the site is full of interesting mistakes!
